(Congress Report) – Michael Goodwin, a columnist for the New York Post, made an appearance on Brian Kilmeade’s radio program Monday where he stated that GOP candidate Lee Zeldin could score a massive victory in the governor’s race in New York this year.
This, of course, would absolutely devastate Democrats all over the state, putting the ball squarely in the court of Republicans in a notoriously blue state. We might actually see an opportunity for things to shift around a bit and possibly witness the state recover from at least a fraction of the disaster caused by Democratic Party policies.
According to Fox News, Goodwin stated that the Biden administration’s increasing unpopularity with the American people, working in tandem with a New York judge tossing out the gerrymandering of the congressional map that Democrats put forward, could end up swinging the results of this critical election in the direction of the Republican Party.
“I think the likely nominee for the Republicans in New York will be Lee Zeldin for governor. And I think Zeldin is a qualified candidate. We’ll see how he does… but I think this is a year when Republicans can win the governor’s race in New York,” Goodwin said.
It has been 20 years now since George Pataki was the last Republican to win a statewide election in New York. That was 2002. Since then, it’s been Democrats, Democrats, Democrats, not only in the governor’s office, of course, but in the state legislature and the comptroller’s race and the attorney general. Republicans have not come close really in all that time,” he continued.
This is the year, I think, when that’s possible and for two reasons related, of course, to the general national consensus. And that is that it looks like a red wave is forming. New York is not exempt,” Goodwin said during the interview.
New York isn’t the only place that the GOP could see some major victories. People all across the United States have grown sick and tired of the Biden administration and their twisted policies that have left our economy scorched.
Inflation being at an all-time high has made it difficult for the average American to purchase basic necessities that are needed for daily living. Most people are already having to live paycheck-to-paycheck thanks to the hardship placed on them by losing their jobs during the COVID pandemic. Now they are struggling even harder thanks to Biden’s lack of concern for anything other than getting his afternoon nap.
The country is waking up. What the left does not realize is they are actually causing a movement against leftists ideology to grow by leaps and bounds by placing dedication to ideology over the well-being of the American people. This is something that will not be tolerated.
Let’s hope Americans let their voices be heard when it’s time to vote in the midterm elections this fall.
