(Congress Report) – The Republican National Committee, along with former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, revealed an election integrity project last week that will ultimately send 100,000 individuals to help keep an eye on the polls in critical swing states come this November. This is a great idea, especially given the level of shenanigans that occurred during the last presidential election. Let’s hope this will add extra layers of security and prevent any sort of monkey business from happening.
“The operation comes after Trump and his allies alleged the 2020 election was stolen through wide-spread voter fraud. The RNC had pledged to send 50,000 poll watchers to the ballot boxes in 2020, according to NBC News,” Just the News reported.
“Having the right people to count the ballots is just as important as turning out voters on Election Day,” Trump said in a press release. ‘Republicans are now working together to protect the vote and ensure a big win on November 5th.’ The attorneys and other volunteers will monitor early voting, election day voting, logic and accuracy machine testing, mail ballot processing, and post-election canvasses, recounts, and audits,” JTN divulged.
“Every ballot. Every precinct. Every processing center. Every county. Every battleground state. We will be there,” RNC chairwoman Lara Trump went on to say in the release. “The RNC is hiring hundreds of election integrity staff across the map – more than ever before because our Party will be recruiting thousands of more observers to protect the vote in 2024. These campaign officials in states are tasked with recruiting, training, and when possible, shifting poll watchers and poll workers day in and day out.”
The lawyers will be stationed at processing centers and polling sites in important battleground states, working with secretaries of state offices and the county board of elections.
The attorneys, along with other volunteers, will then report any sort of voting irregularities and can call in questions that arise through their designated “Election Integrity Hotline” which connects to a command center where specific lawyers will guide the poll watchers through the appropriate processes and help “establish clarity on how the various issues should be answered, resolved, or escalated.”
