BREAKING: AOC Launches Counterattack Against Conservative Voters

(Congress Report) – Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is once again back in the news, and yes, before you even ask, it’s because she’s said something that stupid that stems from the idiotic socialist ideology she holds to. AOC struck back at voters who are opposed to seeing their tax dollars being used for the cancellation of student loan debt, especially those who have already paid their loans in full.

Because taking responsibility for one’s actions is something that clueless “socialists” like AOC just do not understand.

According to Just the News, Joe Biden is apparently mulling over a new plan to allow graduates who meet specific requirements to receive $10,000 in student loan forgiveness. Some folks have expressed opposition to the idea, making the argument that it’s not fair to people who have recently paid off their student loans or who ended up choosing to attend community college as a way to get an education without taking on massive debt.

These people have a right to be angry. No one helped them pay off their debt. They took responsibility for themselves, worked hard, forewent some of the luxuries of life and lived on a budget in order to take care of this debt. It took years to achieve this.

It makes perfect sense that these folks would be upset by the idea of student loan forgiveness. Not only would they have paid for their own debt, but now they would have to pay for someone else’s.

“Forgiving student loans is unfair to students who have paid off their loans; unfair to students who have chosen less expensive community college options; unfair to taxpayers whose dollars are paying off the loans and who have no college education; and it will not rescue students from large amounts of debt,” Diana Furchtgott-Roth, who serves as the adjunct professor of economics at George Washington University and former chief economist for the Department of Labor, according to a new report from Newsweek.

“While it decides how to handle student loan debt, the Biden administration has extended the deferral of student-loan interest through August 31, a decision that was met with criticism amid record levels of inflation,” the report said.

Harvard economist and a top economic adviser for former President Barack Obama, Jason Furman, went on to say that the “perpetual deferral of interest” for a person’s student loans is “just about the worst policy.”

Furman then said the plan has been “costly, unjustified,” and that it has “added to inflation.”

AOC was then asked to offer a response to the folks who oppose forgiveness of student loan debt as unfair to individuals who have already paid off their loans.

“I would say, if that’s the case, did they support the Paycheck Protection Program?” she stated on Capitol Hill, making a reference to the coronavirus pandemic forgivable loan program for small businesses that helped many keep their doors open during lockdowns.

However, had we not locked down for a virus with a 99 percent survival rate, we wouldn’t have needed the program in the first place, which has now caused a massive spike in inflation.

“Did they support the forgiveness of small business loans during COVID? Is this just a matter of certain classes of people having their debt forgiveness being okay, but other classes of people not? I think that’s kind of a central issue here that we should address,” she continued.

“Ocasio-Cortez, who has called for cancellation of all student debt, was also asked what she hopes to see from Biden’s forthcoming proposal on the issue,” Just the News said in their report.

“I haven’t heard any of the latest updates. You know, we saw some of those developments a couple weeks ago, but I have to read on the updated situation,” she added.

If you went to college, that was a personal choice. It is not the responsibility of the rest of society to pay your tuition. There are plenty of trade jobs available in the United States, many of them paying better than the vast majority of jobs you’d be eligible for with a college degree.

I’m saying that to make the point there are other options available out there besides going to college and going into debt. College is a choice. No one should be forced to pay for someone else’s education.
