(Congress Report) – During President Joe Biden’s disastrous State of the Union address, a Gold Star father was taken into custody after standing up and yelling, revealing that the charges filed against him still have not been dropped. Steve Nikoui proclaimed he was “not very much” surprised that the current administration had yet to step in and help him following the incident that occurred earlier this month.
“No charges have been dropped,” Nikoui said to Fox News outside a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing concerning the president’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, which led to the deaths of several service members, Nikoui’s son among them.
Capitol Police told Fox that charges brought against Nikoui are currently being handled by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, which just so happens to be under the direct supervision of Attorney General Merrick Garland. You know, the guy in charge of the now weaponized Justice Department that has been taking swings at any and all political enemies of the president? I’m sure he’ll give Nikoui a fair shake.
“Nikoui, 51, is the father of a U.S. Marine who was killed during that botched withdrawal in 2021. Nikoui was escorted out of the House Galleries during Biden’s State of the Union speech after he stood up and began yelling ‘Abbey Gate’ repeatedly,” Fox News divulged. “The heckling was a reference to an attack at the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan that occurred during the military’s withdrawal from the country.”
“The surprise attack killed 13 U.S. service members and injured at least 170 civilians — including Nikoui’s son, Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui. Nikoui was confronted by security during his outburst, who demanded he stop. He refused and continued shouting,” it continued.
He was then taken from the House galleries, arrested by Capitol Police, and later slapped with a misdemeanor charge of crowding, obstructing or incommoding.
