(Congress Report) – The Constitution, the law of the land designed to protect all of the basic rights we have from God that a government cannot take away, states that a person is guaranteed a right to a fair trial. It’s very difficult to have a fair trial when the judge presiding over your case is biased against you as a defendant, right? Most individuals who have even just a basic understanding of the concept of a fair trial would say such a judge should recuse themselves and allow someone more objective to oversee the proceedings.
Unless, of course, the defendant is former President Donald Trump. It’s perfectly acceptable at that point to have a liberal judge overseeing the case because, as we are all aware by now, the goal of the radical left in the United States is to ensure Trump does not have a rematch with President Joe Biden in 2024. Progressives are dedicated to accomplishing that objective by any means necessary.
Which is likely why a Colorado judge who is overseeing a case to boot Trump from the state’s 2024 ballot has refused to recuse herself from the proceedings despite giving a donation to an anti-Republican political action committee that was created as part of a response to Jan. 6.
As per Katelynn Richardson of the Daily Caller, the lawsuit, which was originally filed by the progressive backed Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) organization in September, is looking to take Trump off the ballot using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, making the allegation that the former president took an oath to uphold and obey the Constitution and then participated in an “insurrection” by encouraging the riots that took place at the Capitol building on Jan. 6.
Apparently, Colorado District Judge Sarah Wallace, who was appointed to the bench by Democratic Gov. Jared Polis, started the proceedings off on Monday by refusing to recuse herself and stating that she has “no specific memory” of the donation.
Well, there is evidence to suggest she did indeed make the donation, so does her memory of making the payment really matter? It’s there on paper.
“Wallace donated $100 on Oct. 15, 2022 to the Colorado Turnout Project, a PAC that was formed to oppose Republicans who ‘refused to condemn the political extremists who stormed the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021,’ according to Federal Election Commission data. She took the bench on Jan. 10, 2023,” the report stated.
“Prior to yesterday, I was not cognizant of this organization or its mission,” Wallace explained. “It has always been my practice, whether I was entirely successful or not, to make contributions to individuals, not PACs.”
The judge then assured the court that she has “formed no opinion whether the events of Jan. 6 constituted an insurrection.”

“Wallace also has earmarked close to $1,500 in other ActBlue donations for Democrats since 2016, including $100 to Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock’s campaign on Nov. 10, 2022, per FEC data. Trump’s lawyer, former Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, said during his opening statement Monday that the lawsuit was ‘anti-democratic’ and a ‘case of lawfare that seeks to interfere with the presidential election,'” Richardson noted.
Just a week ago, Wallace shut down attempts made by Trump to have this specific case thrown out of court, rejecting the claim he made that Congress is responsible for determining ballot eligibility, not courts. She also shot down his efforts to get the case tossed out on the basis of the First Amendment.
At the end of the day, this is more political persecution from radical Democrats. It seems pretty clear Judge Wallace is lying about her knowledge of the donation she made to this anti-GOP organization. It is a violation of the Constitution’s guarantee of a fair hearing that she continues to preside over the proceedings. And yet, this is being allowed to continue. What a farce.
