Guess Who AG Garland Blames For Stalled Hunter Biden Probe

(Congress Report) – One of the most popular excuses pulled out of the hat by Democrats when it comes to explaining who is responsible for their own failures is to try and flip the script and do a proverbial “he started it” by blaming former President Donald Trump. And they do this for everything. EVERY. THING. In fact, Attorney General Merrick Garland is now trying to blame Trump for allowing the statute of limitations to expire on the potential tax charges against President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.

Fred Lucas, writing for The Daily Signal, said that despite Garland’s best efforts to play a rousing round of “pass the buck,” Ohio Republican Congressman Jim Jordan, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, was not having any such nonsense.

“At several points during the hearing, committee Republicans pressed the nation’s top law enforcement officer on why the investigation of Hunter Biden, which began in 2018, has moved so slowly,” Lucas stated.

“Much of what you are describing occurred during the Trump administration, during a Justice Department appointed by [President Donald] Trump,” Garland asserted during his testimony before Congress.

“Jordan pressed Garland about why the Justice Department investigation, run by U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss, allowed the statute of limitations to expire for prosecuting the president’s son on tax charges that would have stretched back to his time on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, while current President Joe Biden was vice president,” Lucas continued.

While he was serving as the right hand man to President Barack Obama, Joe Biden was put in charge of the administration’s Ukraine policy.

“They made an intentional decision to say we’re going to let the statute of limitations lapse,” Jordan commented to Garland during the proceedings. “I want to know who decided that and why they did it.”

Garland then attempted a little fancy footwork and tried to do a backwards pass to Weiss, the individual he appointed as special counsel to pursue the Hunter Biden case.

“Mr. Weiss was the supervisor of the investigation at that time and at all times,” Garland remarked. “He made the appropriate decisions. You’ll be able to ask him that question.”

Jordan responded by stating that everyone knows the answer. And it involves the current president.

“Those tax years involved the president. It’s one thing to have a gun charge in Delaware. That doesn’t involve the president of the United States,” Jordan explained. “But Burisma, oh my, that goes right to the White House. We can’t have that.”

The Ohio Congressman then provided a quote from two IRS whistleblowers and another one from the FBI who disclosed that the Department of Justice slow-walked the investigation into the first son and his shady foreign business dealings, which included a few from both China and Ukraine.

“Every witness we’ve talked to says this thing was slow-walked. And we know why,” Jordan affirmed. “You slow-walked it long enough to let the statute of limitations run, so [prosecutors] wouldn’t have to get into Burisma. Tell me where I’m wrong.”

“In response, Garland again noted that the investigation began during the Trump administration. Weiss was appointed U.S. attorney for Delaware by Trump on the recommendation of the state’s two Democratic U.S. senators. Weiss’ investigation of Hunter Biden began in 2018,” the report added.

Garland then claimed that he did not know specifics concerning the investigation, saying, “Much of what you are describing occurred during the Trump administration, during a Justice Department appointed by Trump.”

Jordan didn’t miss a beat, instantly correcting him right there on the spot.

“No, it didn’t. We aren’t talking four and a half years of this investigation, we are talking the last few years,” Jordan fired off. The Ohio Republican then declared, “The statute of limitations is six years. That lapsed during the Biden administration.”

The attorney general replied, “The explanation for why the statute of limitations lapsed—if it was—has to come from Mr. Weiss.”

It’s refreshing to see someone like Jordan and many other House Republicans working hard to hold the Democratic Party accountable for their corruption. Let’s hope we see real results and the dismantling of the two-tiered system of justice in this country.

That is strange, the “Statute of Limitations” didn’t run out until late 2022 and early 2023, and by that time President Trump was out of office for nearly two years and longer, yet Merrick Garland had been US Attorney General for nearly 2 years and longer, so who was responsible to see that the DOJ attorneys did their job on a timely basis.

Typical Democrats, they blame everyone else for their failures, but no matter how hard I tried as a kid, I could never get my dog to eat my homework, and my teachers knew my dog well, just as the true and honest Americans know who is responsible for making sure DOJ lawyers do their jobs properly and on time.

It is amazing on how many liars we have working in the DOJ, but they all do follow their leadership, because it is required. Enough said!
