(Congress Report) – Former President Donald Trump is now scheduled to do a sit-down interview with podcast giant Joe Rogan on Friday, just several weeks out from the 2024 general election, as per a campaign official who spoke directly with Fox News. This could potentially be the most important interview for Trump since he first got involved with politics, as Rogan is one of the most influential figures in popular culture today, especially among men.
A discussion like this will be hard hitting, as Rogan isn’t afraid to ask tough questions, but in all honesty, what will make this episode so legendary is that Rogan — who also commentates fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship — is well known for his ability to just have great conversations. Even with those he disagrees with.
“‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ boasts the largest podcast audience in the United States and gives Trump another chance to court younger, male voters, which makes up the majority of Rogan’s audience. Rogan’s show has 17.5 million subscribers on YouTube and more than 14 million followers on Spotify,” Fox noted. “According to Politico, which first reported the story, Trump will tape the interview at Rogan’s studio in Austin, Texas.”
“Trump and Vice President Harris have made numerous stops at influential podcasts during the campaign season. Harris recently appeared on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, which has the largest female American audience, to discuss women’s issues. Trump has been a guest on such shows as Barstool Sports’ ‘Bussin with the Boys,’ ‘Full Send’ and Patrick Bet-David’s podcast,” the piece continued.
Rogan’s program has also allegedly been in talks with Vice President Kamala Harris about an interview, but nothing has been scheduled as of this writing.
What folks tend to love about Joe Rogan is that he isn’t a party guy. He’s not affiliated with or connected to Democrats or Republicans. He just takes each issue on its own merits and works out his worldview from there. In the past, the podcast host has shown support for Sen. Bernie Sanders and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Back in 2020, Rogan said he cast his ballot for Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgensen.
However, Rogan has also gone to bat for the 45th president, defending him against accusations of acting like a dictator while in office, noting that Trump ran the economy well. Just a month ago, the legendary podcast host pointed out that a Harris administration would not help improve the status of free speech in our country.
“Most of the show’s episodes do not have political guests, as Rogan – a stand-up comedian and UFC commentator – tends to bring on an eclectic group of guests, including other comics, academics, journalists, actors and other celebrities,” the report stated. “Rogan’s show and its freewheeling conversational style often poke and question institutional norms and mainstream groupthink, and thus the show and its massive audience have been a subject of interest, controversy and even envy for other media organizations.”
Earlier this year, Rogan predicted Harris would end up winning the 2024 presidential election. Let’s hope he’s wrong about that.
