(Congress Report) – The radical left’s latest attack on former President Donald Trump, the attempted prosecution being led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a man bought and paid for by hardcore progressive billionaire George Soros, might already be crumbling down around them thanks to a letter from Trump’s former attorney and “fixer” Michael Cohen, who just so happens to be the key witness for the prosecution.
According to Josh Boswell of the Daily Mail, Cohen has made the claim that he was not reimbursed by Trump or his organization for alleged hush money that was paid to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election as per a 2018 letter to federal authorities, which contradicts the recent testimony he delivered in front of a grand jury.
This new revelation could potentially throw a massive wrench in the works of the prosecution who are attempting to take the former president down over these charges. It seems pretty clear that the radical left is terrified of Trump and a potential rematch with President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.
“Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and the star witness in the case over which Trump reportedly faces imminent arrest, claims that Trump got him to pay $130,000 to Daniels to keep her quiet about her alleged affair with the real estate mogul, just days before the 2016 presidential election,” Boswell wrote. “He says Trump reimbursed him with personal funds, and later pleaded guilty to violating federal campaign finance law over the hush money.”

After the cancellation of the session, the grand jury was asked to come back at noon on Thursday, when prosecutors “may present one more witness,” an official with the court told the news outlet. The letter appears to be a total contradiction to the sworn testimony of Cohen which was given in front of Congress a year later.
Trump’s former attorney, sworn under oath, stated that Trump “asked me to pay off an adult film star with whom he had an affair,” and that “Mr. Trump directed me to use my own personal funds from a Home Equity Line of Credit to avoid any money being traced back to him that could negatively impact his campaign.”
However, a letter addressed to the Federal Election Commission dated Feb. 8, 2018, Cohen’s attorney Stephen Ryan said, “Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds”, and that “Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed Mr. Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly.”
The letter was written as a reply to a probe that was launched by the FEC after complaints were made concerning campaign finance violations by Paul Ryan and an organization known as Common Cause.
“In a private transaction in 2016, before the U.S. presidential election, Mr. Cohen used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford,” Cohen’s lawyer, who worked at McDermott Will & Emery, went on to write in the letter.
“Contrary to the allegations in the complaint, which are entirely speculative, neither Mr. Cohen nor Essential Consultants LLC made any in-kind contributions to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., or any other presidential campaign committee.” it continued.
“Mr. Cohen has not been a government employee during any of the relevant time period. The payment in question does not constitute a campaign contribution or expenditure and, therefore, the FEC lacks jurisdiction over this matter. The complainants have not and cannot present any evidence to the contrary. Accordingly, the complaint should be dismissed,” the letter added.
The letter is more proof that Cohen is not a man who can be trusted to tell the truth. He’s obviously malleable, able to be bent to the will of whoever is either offering him the most return on investment, or has something so huge over his head that he cannot resist obedience to their plan to destroy Trump.
Either way, it doesn’t look like this assault on the former president holds water.
