(Congress Report) – Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat who is Kamala Harris’ vice presidential running mate, was served with a subpoena on Wednesday as part of an investigation being conducted into how the state handled federal child nutrition programs that are connected to massive allegations of fraud through the Feeding Our Future (FOF) scandal. Rep. Virginia Foxx, a North Carolina member of the GOP and head of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, issued the subpoena, which requests documents and communications from Walz and members of his administration regarding the role they played in overseeing the programs during the time of the alleged fraudulent activity.
TrendingPolitics is reporting, “The investigation centers on how the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) managed federal funds meant for child nutrition programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Feeding Our Future, a nonprofit organization, was implicated in one of the largest fraud cases in the country, accused of misappropriating tens of millions of dollars meant to feed hungry children. Despite red flags and warnings, the MDE resumed payments to FOF.”
“The case came to light in early 2022 when federal authorities charged dozens of individuals linked to FOF with fraud. The nonprofit allegedly funneled millions from the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) through various shell companies. These funds, intended to provide meals to children in underserved communities, were instead used for personal luxuries, including expensive cars, homes, and vacations,” the piece added.
Walz received heavy backlash for the way his administration failed to stop the fraudulent misuse of funds, according to the subpoena. It goes on to say, “The actions taken by you and other executive officers were insufficient to address the massive fraud.”
The Committee on Education and the Workforce, which was tasked with overseeing federal education and nutrition programs, had previously made requests for the information to the MDE in November 2023 and again in June 2024. The Committee revealed that responses to their requests were not complete, which is what prompted them to issue the subpoena.
Of course, Walz has been employing that age-old strategy used by politicians throughout human history, the old “deny, deny, deny,” rejecting any claims that his administration was guilty of wrongdoing. The Minnesota Democrat admitted his state could have done a better job in overseeing the program, though he was quick to point out that none of his state’s employees were directly involved in the fraud.
During an interview conducted in June 2024, Walz remarked, “This wasn’t malfeasance,” going on to add that employees “simply didn’t do as much due diligence as they should have.”
The letter from Foxx and the committee, however, paints a different picture. It cites several public statements and reports put out by the media that seemingly indicate Walz and a few other state officials were more involved in the administration of these programs than they are admitting. The subpoena says the Committee is looking for documentation connected to MDE’s decision to start payments back up to FOF, despite there still being concerns about the program’s operation.
“In addition to the subpoena, the Committee requested information about communications between the Walz administration and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the FBI, which were involved in the investigation. The subpoena also seeks records related to disciplinary actions taken against any state employees following the fraud revelations,” the article divulged.
“The subpoena against Walz comes at a critical time as he hopes to be the future vice president. Virginia Foxx, the Republican chairwoman of the Committee, has been vocal in her criticism of Walz. In the letter accompanying the subpoena, Foxx wrote, ‘The fraud in the FCNP is within the Committee’s jurisdiction and is a subject on which legislation could be had.’ Foxx has indicated that the investigation could lead to new legislation aimed at tightening oversight of federal nutrition programs to prevent future fraud,” TrendingPolitics added.
Corruption and Democrats seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly, don’t they? Where you find one, you will find the other.

There is little doubt there will be a social uprising if Cackles is elected and that would be bad for business does Obama want to risk this ?? I think Obama threw Harris into the mix just to see what happens Obamas main goal is to keep the senate and get back the house
Walz is the perfect VP for Kacklea. Liars and cheats somehow find each other. These two fit comfortably into those categories. Hopefully, Walz will be charged with misappropriation of federal funds and sent to Leavenworth. But I’m not holding my breath.
Tell Congress as soon as Jim Jordan responds to his subpoena, you’ll respond to yours until then just ignore them like they did. Tell Congress as soon as Jim Jordan responds to his subpoena, you’ll respond to yours until then just ignore them like they did. What’s good for the gooses good for the gander. Walz is a complete Phony!! His ego is much larger than his abilities! He has lied repeatedly about unimportant issues as a teacher, National Guard member, college credits, IVF of kids etc. If he so easily lies about irrelevant issues—-imagine the whoopers he will tell if he got into the WH when there was any issues!
