(Congress Report) – The date of July 13th, 2024 will go down in the history books as being one of the darkest days of the 21st century. On Saturday a gunman attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally held in Butler County, Pennsylvania. It marks the first time an American president has been targeted like this by an assassin’s bullet since 1981. As you can imagine, the whole incident left Trump’s family shaken.
The Western Journal’s C. Douglas Golden wrote that Trump took to social media and stated he was shot in the “upper part of my right ear.” Photographs and video footage show the side of his head and face splattered with blood. Thankfully, the injuries Trump sustained during the assassination attempt were not life threatening and he seems to already be on the mend.
“In the wake of the shooting, Ivanka Trump — the second-oldest of the Trump children — issued a heartfelt message to followers on social media,” Golden penned.
“Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and for the other victims of today’s senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I am grateful to the Secret Service and all the other law enforcement officers for their quick and decisive actions today.” Ivanka said in a post published on X.
“I continue to pray for our country. I love you Dad, today and always,” she finished.

Unlike the 2020 presidential election, the former president’s daughter has, for the most part, stayed out of the latest cycle. When her dad announced he would be running for president back in 2022, Ivanka revealed that she didn’t plan to get involved in the matter.
She chose not to participate this time around due to “a lot of darkness” in the process, along with all of the legal battles her dad has been forced to endure.
“On a human level, it’s my father, and I love him very much,” she remarked during a conversation with podcaster Lex Fridman in the early part of July. “So, it’s painful to experience. But ultimately, I wish it didn’t have to be this way.”

I don’t think anyone can blame her for not wanting to participate in this election cycle, especially after her father almost died due to the psychopathic vitriol the radical left continues to spew toward Trump. It is probably best that many of the former president’s family members take this same course of action.
This is the world we live in now, one the radical progressives behind the scenes have been longing to create. A world where people are split so deeply along political lines they can convince their automatons to carry out acts of violence at will.
