(Congress Report) – The first hearing of the House Judiciary Committee’s Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government took place last week and featured a number of tips offered by former agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, along with the testimony of two former agents who boldly came forward in order to expose the politicization that has been happening within the bureau. This is the fruition of promises made by Republicans back during the 2022 midterm election season.
Katelynn Richardson, writing for the Daily Caller, noted, “The two former agents, Thomas Baker and Nicole Parker, spoke on their experiences while working at the FBI. Parker said that she is enduring the stress of ‘putting a target’ on her back and testifying to speak on behalf of ‘numerous current and former bureau employees who feel similarly that they do not have a voice.'”
Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, opened up the hearing by providing an overview of FBI whistleblowers, which he announced amounts to “dozens and dozens” of people.
“In my time in Congress, I have never seen anything like this,” Jordan stated during the hearing. “It’s not Jim Jordan saying this, not Republicans, not conservatives, good FBI agents who are willing to come forward and give us the truth.”

“Jordan sampled a handful of these tips, spanning back to Nov. 18, 2021, when an FBI whistleblower alerted House Judiciary Republicans that the FBI had create a threat tag for parents expressing concern at school board meetings, and ranging to Nov. 4, 2022, when a whistleblower revealed the FBI accepts private user information from Facebook without user consent, according to a House Judiciary report,” Richardson continued.
Jordan proclaimed that he is expecting many of the whistleblowers to sit down for transcribed interviews or to offer up testimony during future hearings. You can bet that statement is making progressives in the higher echelons of the Justice Department sweat profusely.
“Every day, I woke up and I embraced being an FBI special agent until things changed,” former FBI Agent Nicole Parker divulged during the hearing.
Over the course of the 12 years she worked for the bureau, Parker declared that its trajectory “transformed” and its principles “shifted dramatically.” I think that’s something we can see fairly clearly when you look at the hostility exhibited by the agency toward former President Donald Trump and those who support him. We witnessed it during the raid on his Florida home and when the FBI arrested pro-life advocate Mark Houck, a move many believe was an attempt by the Biden administration to try and silence anti-abortion activists.
“The FBI became politically weaponized starting from the top in Washington and trickling down to the field offices,” Parker commented. “It’s as if there became two FBIs. Americans see this, and it is destroying the bureau’s credibility, and therefore the hardworking and highly ethical agents who still do the heavy lifting and pursue noble cases.”
Thomas Baker, who worked for the FBI for a total of 33 years, asserted that the public’s loss of faith in the FBI “breaks his heart.” He then remarked that the shift in the agency’s culture was “deliberate” and was largely set in place by former FBI director Robert Mueller.
“The FBI director set out deliberately to change the culture of the FBI from a law enforcement agency to an intelligence driven agency,” he continued.
“The FBI, by urging Twitter to censor speech, which it could not itself do, was engaging in a perversion – a perversion of the First Amendment,” Baker declared. “For most of FBI history, agents were trained as part of the FBI’s mission was to be a guarantor of the Bill of Rights. That has been turned on its head.”
